JULY 2ND FILING DATE APPROACHES

Most expert attorneys feels that for the vast majority of Madoff claimants – even those who have taken out more than they put it to their Madoff accounts – filing a SIPC claim form is important.

Don’t pass up this opportunity. Don’t assume that the Trustee’s definition of Cash In/Cash Out will prevail. If you have a question, please contact the Trustee’s office. Most claimants probably have nothing to lose by filing. Check with an attorney immediately if you have any doubts.

Those fearful of clawback should realize that the Trustee already has extensive records of receipts and disbursements going back at least to 2000. In other words, most potential claimants have nothing to lose, according to the top experts.

Forms must be in Trustee’s possession by July 2nd!

To assure timely receipt, last-minute filers can deliver their claims by hand to AlixPartners LLP c/o te Trustee’s law firm, Baker & Hostetler LLP, 45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York NY 10111 until close of business, Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Don’t delay. See latest Trustee’s Notice with instructions for late filers here.

Additionally, claims can be submitted by email to claimsagent@alixpartners.com, but must be followed up with a hard copy by mail.

We are US citizens who have lived outside the US (in Canada) since 1965. We have filed a SIPC claim form even though we think we may be subject to clawback. We were not big investors and clawback will be very debilitating. Does our foreign residency affect our situation in any way?
    Thanks
